There is no other organ quite like the uterus. If men had such an organ they would brag about it. So should we.

The more I learn as a student midwife the more I am amazed at what women’s bodies can do! Women are strong, capable and intuitive. I am honored to be pursuing a career that enables women to have choices and respect during one of the most sacred moments of their lives.

My passion for birth work stems from my years of experience in childcare. In my mid-twenties I opened a licensed in-home daycare where I tended to children ages two-months to four-years old. In 2016 I began serving individual families as a nanny. As a nanny I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know mothers better, and saw the importance of being a support to the matriarchs of the families. I knew that my joy for children, my care for mothers, and my desire to do as much good as I can in this lifetime would somehow meld perfectly into a future career as a midwife.

I am currently going through the North American Registry of Midwives' Portfolio Evaluation Process which I expect to finish around 2026. Part of training to become a midwife requires that students learn from an experienced midwife through an apprenticeship. I joined the Frisco Midwifery & Birth Center team early in 2024.

If I’m not at the birth center or doing homework, I can usually be found volunteering at the local animal shelter or doing something adventurous with my husband like fossil hunting in a Texas creek.
